Twenty five year old Pop Singer Jovany Javier, mixes his Cuban heritage, with a classy, sex appeal that will have the girls wanting him and the guys wanting to be him. Although you might remember him as the bilingual, blue collar shipbuilder that flashed his rock hard abs along side Steven Tyler and Randy Jackson on “American Idol,” Louisiana native Jovany Javier has matured into a multi-cultural talent that is on the verge of stardom. Vocally untrained but determined, Jovany impressed the “Idol” judges with his rendition of “Contigo en La Distancia,” (in which he was the first ever to audition in complete Spanish) and steadily moved up the ranks, making it all the way to the Top 16.
After his time on “Idol”, Jovany embarked on his solo career, performing on Miami-based television shows “El Show de Fernando Hidalgo” and “Esta Noche Tonight,” as well as several live venues, including opening for Latin recording artists Khriz y Angel and Mr.305 inc’s Sensato del Patio at the House of Blues in New Orleans. Miami native Jon Secada also took notice of Jovany’s emerging talent after hearing him sing his hit song “Angel” on stage. With Secada’s stamp of approval, Jovany decided to move to Miami to be mentored by the Grammy award winner.
Before “Idol”, Jovany was the stereotypical “average Joe,” working as a ship builder while studying to be a registered nurse, and even enlisting in the United State Navy. Though he did not get to serve in the military because of his successes, Jovany still managed to give back to his country by traveling the world with Armed Forces Entertainment, performing for more than 30,000 troops and their families in 12 different countries. During a tour stop in Japan, Jovany was discovered by Record Label Executive’s Jimmy Swan and Jacob Cap of Executive Music Group (EMG). Impressed with his talent, marketability, and drive, Jimmy and Jacob immediately signed him, marking the official beginning of Jovany’s professional career. Currently, Jovany is in studio writing/recording songs for his album.
Along with music, Jovany Javier continues to grow his brand, immersing himself into the world of acting and commercial modeling. He wrote, co-produced, and performed in “Te Conozco Bien” and “Y Hubo Alguien”, a two part music video/telenovela hybrid in which Jovany utilizes all of his talents while telling the story of a scorned lover. Jovany has also performed at fashion shows through out the Dallas/Ft.Worth area. Through it all, he still remains connected to his fans, regularly interacting with them on Facebook and Twitter, giving them glimpses on what he has done, as well as what is yet to come.
